The reporter learned yesterday that the provincial government has  recently issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the  Development of a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence." Xiamen will  create an artificial intelligence industry cluster with international  competitiveness.

The  "Opinions" pointed out that our province must basically complete the  establishment of an artificial demonstration base for artificial  intelligence industry application, industrial agglomeration and talent  gathering in 2020, and initially form an innovative system for the  development of artificial intelligence. By 2025, some of the artificial intelligence industries in Fujian will  have international competitiveness. Artificial intelligence will become  the core driving force for the transformation and upgrading of Fujian's  industries and the construction of new Fujian, and it will become a  national demonstration area for artificial intelligence applications.

According  to the Opinions, the layout of the artificial intelligence industry in  our province also has more refined considerations. Xiamen, Fuzhou and  Quanzhou have more specific divisions of labor. Among  them, Xiamen will rely on Torch Hi-tech Industry Development Zone, IC  Industry Base, Cloud Computing Industrial Demonstration Zone and  Software Park in Fujian and Taiwan, and focus on the development of  artificial intelligence core technologies such as machine vision and  natural language processing to break through the bottleneck of  artificial intelligence core application technology. The development of artificial intelligence hardware industry based on  smart chips will focus on the development of strategic emerging  industries such as integrated circuits and third-generation  semiconductors, relying on leading enterprises and high-level artificial  intelligence research and development platforms to create an artificial  intelligence industry cluster with international competitiveness.

The  focus of development in Fuzhou is big data and the Internet of Things.  The local will focus on building the Southeast Asian regional big data  center and the smart IOT industry base. Quanzhou will focus on the smart  equipment manufacturing and will be positioned as “building an  important national semiconductor industry cluster. Intelligent light industrial equipment base."
